Polaris Principle
+89° 15′ 50.8″
That is the current
position of Polaris, the Northern Star. Viewed from another
planet it is just one
among many, but on earth it is uniquely important, fixed in
place… an anchor. No matter where you
are in the northern hemisphere, if you face Polaris you face
North… YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE!
For centuries sailors have used the
stars to navigate their way across the earth’s vast oceans. The
Polaris Principle has been developed, using the stars as a
reminder to help you find your way… to help you navigate your
life.
The Big Dipper is a constellation
that revolves around Polaris. Polaris also known as the North
Star is a constant in the night sky, its position never changes
relative to earth. The Big Dipper is one of the brightest
constellations in the northern hemisphere’s night sky, its
unique shape is easily recognizable and once located can be
followed and will always lead to Polaris. When you find the Big
Dipper you can always find Polaris and therefore always know
what direction you are heading relative to true North.

These waypoints correspond to the 7
stars in the Big Dipper. Polaris represents the person you want
to become. We're going to talk a lot about your
Life Purpose and it is the starting point of
all success. I am amazed by the number of people that I talk to
that go through life without a Life Purpose or a plan to achieve
it. How can anyone know if
they're headed in the right direction if they have no idea where
they’re going? I encourage you to spend
some time thinking about these waypoints and consider if your
life measures up to your desires and expectations in each of
these key areas of your life.
